Marjorie Just is a Principal of the firm of Deckelbaum, Ogens & Raftery, Chartered.  Her practice focuses on complex family law litigation in Maryland and the District of Columbia.  She is also trained in Collaborative Law and Mediation.  While Ms. Just has been a litigator for over fourteen years, she believes Collaborative Law is an excellent process for resolving divorce and custody issues in a constructive manner and without the hostility, uncertainty and expense of litigation.   

Education: Ms. Just graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1990 with a B.A. degree in English and Political Science.  She graduated from George Washington University Law School in 1994 with a J.D. degree, where she was a member of the G.W.U. Journal of International Law and Economics.   

Bars & Professional Associations:  Ms. Just was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1994 and the District of Columbia Bar in 1995.  She is a member of the Family Law Sections of the District of Columbia Bar, Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland, where she is also a member of the Legislation Committee.  She is a Barrister member of the Montgomery Inns of Court.  She is a founding member of the Maryland Collaborative Practice Council, and the Collaborative Divorce Association, Inc.  She serves on the Board of Directors, and chairs the Protocols Committee, of the Collaborative Divorce Association. 

Volunteering Activities:  Ms. Just is a volunteer family law mentor for the District of Columbia Bar Law Firm Pro Bono program.  She has spoken on various continuing legal education panels on issues relating to family law.  She is a member of the Domestic Relations and Paternity & Support Subcommittee of the District of Columbia Family Court Legislation Implementation Committee.  She also volunteers as an Attorney Negotiator for family cases at DC Superior Court.
